Those cars are the same ones the orange line had when it went underground, and that was over 30 years ago.
I think I've only used the Orange Line once... I'm usually on the Blue or Green.

Green line was first. Park Street to Boylston. 1896
The current Orange line is actually the youngest of the 4 lines. It replaced the elevated Orange line back in the 1970s.
